Out & About - 20th February

Today I went to Thorpe Marsh, a disused coal power station, which was de-commissioned in 1994. We parked in Barnby Dun, a village 10 minutes away. When we got there, we simply walked in. There was also a water management facility next to the river.

The first cooling tower we walked into had it’s cooling equipment strewn throughout, so we did not enter. The second cooling tower however was bare, so we could walk straight in. It had a column in the centre of it. We soon found out that they echo well!

The next cooling tower had all its cooling equipment in place, so we did not enter. The was a building afterwards, probably water management, which had the most “unique” litter.

Snowdrops-(2)The last cooling towers were not much of interest. We walked back to the car, and then visited Saxby, where there were snowdrops.
